5 3/4" tall Bottom stamped "325," and incised "1906" This piece SCREAMS to be picked up and its' finish caressed. How lucky to own such an example of early Van Briggle white matte glaze. Above the logo appears to be an artist mark "A" - Artist unknown for that date, if mark is in fact an artist mark. Some may speculate that the mark stands for Artus or Anne. Artus had passed away 2 years prior. Anne was not known to have personalized individual pieces in any way, although she created most designs between 1904 and 1912. So, prevailing opinion is that the "A" above the logo has nothing to do with Artus or Anne, but with some other finisher or process. Crazing is evident, which is common in older pieces. Some collectors believe this does not effect value, and other believe it does effect value. Also See Bottom Markings Page.
