In 1946, Mulberry glaze was discintinued, and Van Briggle switched to "Persian Rose" which shared many characteristics, but which was generally a bit lighter.

Incised with number "45" indicating a particular clay batch used on that day.

NInk mark "I" is glazer mark. Unknown glazer from that period.

Bottom is covered in shellac by the factory to reduce scratching of furniture.
